Logan: One Last Time *SPOILERS*

Okay, so I just saw this film with my friend and I have to talk about it. Now, before we get into spoiler things I must say, if you haven’t seen it yet: Go. Now.

This is your last warning, SPOILERS AHEAD.

la-fi-ct-movie-projector-logan-20170227.jpgAlright, shall we then? This film wrecked me, it absolutely wrecked me and my friend. This film is absolutely phenomenal in the superhero genre, and to me it’s just amazing in general. It was raw and gritty. It didn’t pull punches and hits you like a freight train.

The dynamic between Xavier, Logan, and Laura was wonderful. Their performance was great and I cannot sing their praises enough. If you’re a huge X-Men fan like I am and you’ve been following the films for the last 17 years than this film will really really hit you. The character development of Logan, and Xavier even, is wonderful.

logan02.jpgNow, really delving into spoilers here. The relationship development between Logan and his daughter really destroyed us. That ending, God what an ending. Logan finally having that moment that Xavier talked about. It hurt, it hurt a lot. It hurt to watch her cry over him and call him daddy. It also hurt when Logan referred to Xavier as Pop.

Seeing Logan, hurting, not healing, limping, and coughing up blood was painful. So was seeing Xavier in such a weak, feeble, decrepit state. Then knowing that his seizures are what killed the other X-Men and that he couldn’t remember killed us.

logan-credit-fox.jpgThis film is pain, and nothing but pain. But it’s the kind of pain that you can’t stop watching. Not out of some sick or twisted delight but because it’s that raw kind of pain that hit deep in your heart. The kind that you get when you watch an old friend fall apart. Because for us that’s what it is. Xavier and Logan are old friends that I’ve had since childhood, that I grew up with, and it hurt to watch them go through all the pain that they did in the film.

Don’t get me wrong, it was a phenomenal ending and it couldn’t have ended any other way, but that doesn’t mean that it didn’t hurt. It hurt to watch Logan have to pull his claws all the way out because he was dying. Another thing that I found interesting was the way that Logan interacted with Xavier, the way he took care of him. The way he and Caliban worked things out in that abandoned tank. He really took care of him, and he really loved him. He loved the old man and the old man loved him.

Wallpaper_Logan_1600x1200_JPosters.jpgLaura is like Logan in so many ways, and bravo to Dafne Keen for doing such an amazing job, but she looked so much like Logan in her movements, facial expressions, and piss off attitude. When she was sitting there eating cereal and the three men came in to get her, the glare she gave him was such a Logan look. She pulled it off very very well. Her anger, her stubbornness, her reserved compassion and heart. All Logan. The way she looked at Xavier, the way she interacted with him. They were her family, the family she never had.

This film was amazing, and we absolutely loved it. I highly suggest for anyone to go see it, but especially if you’re a superhero fan. I will say, as a warning, it’s not a kids film. It’s rated R for a reason, it’s incredibly violent and bloody and there’s a bit of language. I didn’t mind any of it all but blood and language doesn’t bother me. But if that’s something that isn’t your cup of tea then, be forewarned.

Go see Logan, go watch this amazing, wonderful, phenomenal film.

Let’s Be Real, Whether You’re a Marvel Fan or DC Fan, Everybody Loves Deadpool

Everyone knows that in the comic book world Marvel vs. DC is a war that dates back before dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Now , whether or not one is better than another is a post for another day. You see, it doesn’t matter which one you favor because everyone, everyone, loves Deadpool.

For those of you who don’t know who Deadpool is, Deadpool (AKA Wade Winston Wilson) is a fictional mercenary and anti-hero character created by Marvel. “A disfigured and mentally unstable mercenary, Deadpool originally appeared as a villain in an issue of New Mutants, and later in issues of X-Force. The character has since starred in several ongoing series, and shares titles with other characters such as Cable. Also known as the “Merc with a Mouth,” Deadpool is famous for his talkative nature and his tendency to break the fourth wall, which is used by writers to humorous effect.

He was portrayed by Ryan Reynolds in the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine and will appear in his own feature film set to be released on February 12, 2016 also starring Reynolds.” (Wiki)

“Deadpool’s primary power is an accelerated healing factor, depicted by various writers at differing levels of efficiency. Artificially endowed by the Weapon X program, this enables him to regenerate any destroyed tissue at a superhuman rate as well as making him immune to all known diseases. “Oh, except for the cancer he had when his powers were given to him by the Weapon X program. His existing tumor spread across his whole body, leaving him horribly disfigured. If any other Marvel character came down with such a horrible ailment, it’d be a tragedy. For Deadpool, it’s just another punchline.” (Buzzfeed)

Deadpool’s brain cells are similarly affected, with dying brain cells being rejuvenated at a super accelerated rate. This allows Deadpool to recover from any head wounds, and it renders him nearly invulnerable to psychic and telepathic powers, as the altered or damaged brain cells quickly regenerate to their original state. It is also the cause of his psychosis and mental instability. It is sometimes implied that his healing factor merely bolstered and exacerbated an underlying mental issue, as a young Wade Wilson was shown as a withdrawn, disturbed young kid caught in his many daydreams, and when Deadpool at one point lost his healing factor, he did not regain his sanity. Deadpool’s healing factor is mentally driven, unlike Wolverine’s natural healing factor.

Similar to Wolverine, his healing factor also affects his physical attributes by increasing them to superhuman levels. Aside from his physical advantages, Deadpool is a superb assassin and mercenary, adept in multiple forms of martial arts, and an expert swordsman and marksman. It is thought that while his psychosis and dissociative identity disorder are a handicap, they are also one of his assets as they make him an extremely unpredictable opponent. Deadpool is an expert at distracting his opponents. ” (Wiki)

Now that’s just a small taste of who Deadpool is. Deadpool is best known for his sarcasm. He is the most sarcastic and sassy thing on the planet and doesn’t give a crap about anything. Like, you just can’t help but love Deadpool. Not only that, but he makes for the best cosplay. You can quite literally do whatever the heck you want if you cosplay as Deadpool because that’s just what Deadpool does.

So enjoy the following pics, comics, and cosplay gifs of some of the funniest Deadpool moments.

Well that’s it for this post. I know that was a lot of Deadpool but I really love Deadpool. And after reading this, if you don’t love Deadpool then you’re wrong. Deadpool is amazing.

But anyways, have a great day everyone!

The Justice League’s True Power… Sass

How many of you grew up with The Justice League? How many of you don’t know who the Justice League are?

The Justice League, formerly also called the Justice League of America or JLA, is a fictional superhero team that appears in comic books published by DC Comics. The Justice League originally featured Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and the Martian Manhunter. The team roster has been rotated throughout the years with characters such as Green Arrow, Captain Atom, Captain Marvel, Black Canary, The Atom, Hawkman, Elongated Man, Red Tornado, Firestorm, Zatanna, Hawkgirl, Cyborg, Vixen, and dozens of others. Sidekicks like Supergirl, Robin, Aquagirl, and Speedy tend to support the main hero or heroine. (Wiki)

Now, each member has their own special power but there is one power that all of them share… sass. These people are the kings and queens of sass. And I’m pretty sure Batman is the lord of all sass. I grew up with Justice League (the 2001-2004 one) and I loved this show. Heck I still love this show! I’ll watch it on YouTube every now and again and I’m 20! But, as a child you miss things. Like all the sassy jokes and what not.

Here’s just a few examples of their sassy power.

Now after seeing these you can’t tell me that these people are were not sassy as all get out. So, go back and re-watch this series and watch the sass just roll. My favorite characters were Shayera Hol as Hawkgirl and John Stewart as Green Lantern. (I also shipped these two before I even knew what shipping was), Who was your favorite character?

Marvel Films 2015: We can already hear the cheers and screams

In 2015 there will be three new Marvel films coming to cinemas: Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant Man, and the Fantastic Four reboot. We’re excited about the new Avengers film coming out but we’re wary about Ant Man and Fantastic Four. Here’s the basic info for the films, trailers, and a list of cast members. Our thoughts on all this are at the bottom, but after seeing all this tell us what you think.

Along the way the Avengers encounter the powerful twins Pietro and Wanda Maximoff, as well as the familiar Vision.” (Wikipedia)

  • Miles Teller-Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic
  • Kate Mara-Sue Storm / The Invisible Woman
  • Michael B. Jordan-Johnny Storm / The Human Torch
  • Toby Kebbell -Victor Domashev
  • Jamie Bell-Ben Grimm / The Thing

Avengers is going to be great, the trailer looks amazing and you’ve got some great new heroes joining the group and a seriously phenomenal villain. The storyline looks wonderful and we’re dying to see more. Ant Man we question, we question the choice of Paul Rudd and whether or not he’ll be able to do Ant Man justice. The trailer felt very slow and makes it a bit hard to take Ant Man seriously (for now at least, we really do hope that the film proves us wrong). However we do get to see The Hobbit star Evangeline Lilly and Peggy Carter in this film.

Fantastic Four Reboot, *sigh* despite whatever issues the first two may have had or how true or not true to the comics they were we can all agree about one thing that they had right. One thing that the new film has ticked us off with… JOHNNY AND SUE ARE BLOOD SIBLINGS. We understand wanting to make the film diverse and we’re cool with that but for the love of everything they made Sue adopted! Johnny and Sue are blood siblings, I don’t care if they’re African American, Caucasian, Asian, Native American. I don’t care! Just so long as they are the same because they’re blood siblings!

And I know that it’s a big thing to take these superheros and do the younger version of them type deal like X-Men: First Class did. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, personally I really loved X-Men: First Class but you can’t do that to every single one! Some characters are just supposed to be older. When I think of Reed from Fantastic Four I think of an older man with some grey in his hair. I really like Fantastic Four and I really want it to do well but I feel like they’ve already started out on a bad foot.

Again, I hope they prove me wrong and that this is an amazing film that can make me forget about it’s shortcomings.  *Sigh* okay, I’m done. So what do you guys think of these films? Living up to Marvel exceptions or do they feel lacking?
