I’M DYING! This trailer made us so happy. Anna Beth and I (Kendall) have watched this at least a dozen times over the last few days. This trailer is so much better than the first one they released and we were able to take it far more seriously.
We were already having a fangirl moment when we saw Tatooine and heard that epic music, but the Mark Hamill started doing a voice over and we started freaking out more. Then seeing Darth Vader’s helmet made us freak out more. But then, THEN, the best part was saved for last. We got to hear Han say that epic line, “Chewie we’re home”. DEAD. We were dead. We started fangirling so hard. We were screaming, squealing, flapping our arms about it, and clinging to each other for dear life.
“For those of you who don’t know Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens is directed by J. J. Abrams and is the seventh installment in the episodic Star Wars film series. The Force Awakens is set approximately 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, and features three new leads alongside characters returning from previous Star Wars films
The Force Awakens will be the first film in the planned third Star Wars trilogy announced after The Walt Disney Company’s acquisition of Lucasfilm in October 2012. It is produced by Abrams, his long-time collaborator Bryan Burk, and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. Abrams directed the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Lawrence Kasdan, co-writer of the original trilogy films The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Abrams and Kasdan rewrote an initial script by Michael Arndt, who also wrote the story treatment. John Williams returns to compose the score, and Star Wars creator George Lucas serves as creative consultant.” (Wiki)
Now, cast wise we have several classics coming back and some unnamed characters. Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Kenny Baker (R2-D2), and Anthony Daniels (C-3PO). They’re being very secretive about what roles their other actors are playing. You can expect to see Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Adam Driver, Warwick Davis, Max von Sydow, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong’o, Jessica Henwick, Greg Grunberg, and Christina Chong.
There are a few characters names that have been released to us. Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Korr Sella, John Boyega as Finn, Daisy Ridley as Rey, D.C. Barns as Kata Koio. Now what their roles are in the film we’re not entirely sure.
We have really high hopes for this film. J.J. Abrams is a big fan of Star Wars and he did a phenomenal job with Star Trek so hopes are high. So, what do you guys think of the new trailer and the return of Han and Chewie?
